Quality paint is durable and easy to clean. You don’t want paint that rubs off the wall when you’re trying to clean up unexpected food splatters in the kitchen or marks on the wall in your kids’ playroom. A good brand of paint will adhere to the wall and provide better protection. The durability of the paint will also give you peace of mind of the knowledge that you won’t have to paint any time soon .
The paint finish that you use will also help with the ease of scrubbing that wall, but a better grade of paint is both durable and scrubbable no matter the finish.

Home Depot Paint Return Policy
The Home Depot paint return policy focuses on its Paint Satisfaction Guarantee. If you arent satisfied with the paint you buy, you can bring it back within 30 days. If its a mixed paint, Home Depot will correct the color or give you a comparable product if the color isnt correctable. For unopened, un-tinted paints, a return or exchange is allowed during that time frame.
There are some exceptions. For example, if youre dissatisfied with the color but didnt properly prepare the surface before painting, returning the paint isnt an option. Liquid stains, color samples, oops paints, and special-order products are also excluded.

Lowes Paint Exchange Policy
Lowes paint exchange policy is mainly covered in Lowes Paint Guarantee. If you arent satisfied with any interior or exterior paint, you can bring it back in the original container and request an exchange.
You do have to handle the exchange within 30 days of the initial purchase, and youll need to bring a receipt, either paper or electronic. With that, you can receive a comparable can of paint in exchange for the original one.
The paint exchange policy also applies to stains and resurfacers. However, samples, non-stock items, and mis-tint products arent eligible. Additionally, returns relating to application errors or surface preparation issues arent allowed.
How Does Home Depot Paint Match
In the old days, the only way to match your paint color was to bring in your old paint can or, barring that, a chip of the wall or other painted item with the desired color.
You can still use this method at The Home Depot. In the case of paint cans, the associate helping you may be able to look up the color formula using the paint codes on the can. They can do this even if its not their own brand it can be from other home improvement stores, such as their major competitor, Lowes.
Even if you dont have the can or the formula, , it can still color match. The Home Depot has a national database of colors that can be accessed from every store by a computer. Each store should have its own spectrophotometer, a light meter that can read color.
If you give the associate material with the paint on it,they will place it on the sensor, which will scan the color and match it in the database. The paint sample will need to be about an inch in diameter for the sensor to be able to read it.

Can You Exchange Paint At Home Depot
Whether you can exchange paint at Home Depot depends on the product involved, whether its open, how long has passed since the initial purchase and the reason for the exchange. Some exchanges are allowed if youre within 30 days and have the original receipt. Unopened, unmixed paint is easily exchanged during that 30-day window. Additionally, if the color of a mixed paint isnt quite right, you can come in for a free color correction or exchange it for a comparable product if Home Depot is responsible for the color issue.
However, if you dont have a receipt, even an unopened product exchanged might not be allowed. Additionally, if the reason for the return is simply disliking the color even though it was mixed correctly, an exchange might not be an option.

Can Home Depot Match Paint Colors From Other Things
In addition to paint chips and old cans, Home Depot can match colors from other materials, such as plastics, drywall, metal, and cloth. Bring in a fabric swatch to be measured by the spectrophotometer if youre serious about having your wall paint color match your new couch.
Take a little scrap of fabric from below the sofa, or remove the cushion cover, and bring that instead if the furniture retailer didnt offer you with a swatch. One thing to keep in mind is that Home Depot does not have the ability to match transparent fabric.
How To Return Paint To Walmart
1. Get the Paint and Your Receipt
Before making the trip to Walmart, gather up the paint you want to return. Then, track down your receipt. If you used Walmart Pay or completed the purchase through the Walmart app or website, you can usually find a copy of the receipt in our order history. Otherwise, locate the paper receipt, or youll need to use one of your annual receipt-less returns.
For purchases made with a credit or debit card, its helpful to have that original card with you when you make the return, especially if you want a refund. However, it isnt always a necessity.
2. Go to Customer Service
Once you arrive at Walmart, dont enter the main store. Instead, head to the customer service desk. Its usually located between two main entrances along the front wall.
3. Speak with an Employee
Once you get to customer service, speak with an employee. Let them know that youre returning paint and provide them with a copy of your receipt.
If youre getting a refund, the employee can usually wrap things up quickly. If youre doing an exchange, continue to the next step.
4. Find Your New Paint
After speaking with customer service, youll head to the paint department to get your new product. Either grab what you need from the shelf or chat with the paint department employee to get paint mixed or tinted before heading back to customer service to finish the exchange.

You can find Home Depot Oops Paint in the store only, not online. Typically this paint is displayed close to the counter in the paint department. If you cant find it, ask a sales associate to direct you to the correct shelf. If you get a confused look, ask for mistinted paint. We spotted the Oops Paint rack near the end of one of the aisles at a nearby Home Depot. The amount and selection will vary depending on, well, how many mistakes in mixing have occurred. How To Pick The Right Paint Sheen | The Home Depot
The paint department at Home Depot employs a variety of techniques. Bring in your old can of paint or a paint chip from your wall or other painted item to the shop if youre having trouble finding a match.
The Home Depot paint department database may already include the color formula for the cans of paint. A paint department employee would just need to enter codes from the cans label onto a computer. In many cases, this will work even if youre purchasing paint from a brand other than the one sold by Home Depot.
The inside of the paint can lid can be used as a paint chip if there is no label. Another option is to paint a scrap of wood or drywall and use it as a match once it has dried.

Can Home Depot Match Paint Color From A Picture
Yes, there are a few various methods to accomplish this goal. If you have a printout of a photo that has the color youre looking for, you can bring it in. For example, you may have visited a friends house and snapped a picture of their wall because you liked the color.
If this is the case, there are a few things to keep in mind. As a result, you may not be able to accurately depict what you saw in your minds eye in the snapshot because of a lack of color balance in the acquired image file.
If the print is tiny, you may not get the color you desire because youll still need an inch of the color. However, a different approach to image color matching might be more effective
A Simple Trick For Getting Designer Paint Colors At Inexpensive Hardware Store Prices
At least once a week, I get a paint question in my inbox. And most of the time its either 1.) What paint color is in your ? Or 2.) What do you mean you mixed one paint color into another?
I guess I just gave away my paint trick at the very beginning of this post, huh?
For the past two years since starting this blog, I just assumed most people knew this little paint color trick, but the more I find this question in my inbox, the more I realize that maybe its not as common knowledge as I thought.
So guess what! Heres the kicker: You can mix any brands paint color into any brand of paint you want.
Im completely hooked on designer paint colors, but I often dont have room in the budget to spend on those brands or dont want to wait on a sale or dont feel like driving across town with a squirmy toddler for a special trip to pick up a gallon at the paint store.
A lot of times, I get the Sherwin Williams or Benjamin Moore colors I want mixed into Glidden or Valspar .
There are hundreds, even thousands, of paint colors in an online database, so you can walk right up to the hardware store counter and pick what you want, and youre not limited to just whatever color swatches happen to be on the wall in the store.
Ive tried a lot of different paints, and Glidden seems to be my favorite, less pricey option lately.
So now you know my handy little secret, if that was a tip you didnt already have in your budget DIY bank. Every penny counts, right?
And about those paint colors
